GIS Winter Series Events

Posted by Marketing, 27th September 2016

This December, Global Image Sports (in collaboration with Lakepoint Sports), will be launching an inaugural WINTER SERIES event in Georgia. This will mark the first time GIS have rolled out a dedicated winter based program to help allow our partners and players greater access to the high quality, outstanding training and professional level delivery we are known for.

The event will take place between the 19th and 21st December at the Lakepoint Community Sporting Facility. This amazing, multi-million dollar development is a complex unlike any other with more than 1,300 acres of space and a facility that boasts hotels, restaurants, retail, bowling, zip-lines, waterparks and much more besides! Lakepoint is one of the premier sports resorts in the United States and the GIS event will take place on their brand new turf soccer fields as well as the immense indoor arena that can put some aircraft hangars to shame!

The WINTER SERIES event is broken up into two distinct programs for different ages (both boys and girls can compete in either).

COLLEGE ID CAMP

For players born from 01/01/1999 to 12/31/2002, the college ID camp is a perfect program for high school age players to showcase their abilities in front of some of the most recognised college coaches and Universities in the US. All players will get the chance to work with the different coaches over the course of the 3 days and there will be a written evaluation at the end of the camp. There will be college coaches from NCAA Division 1 and 2 schools present at this event and it will feature classroom sessions and a full set of kit as part of the program.

US TECHNICAL CHAMPIONSHIP

For players born from 01/01/2002 to 12/31/2009, the USTC is a unique opportunity to further develop and motivate young aspiring and talented players by opening their eyes to the powers of skill, confidence and creativity. The GIS event is the brainchild of former Manchester United first team coach, Rene Meulensteen. Technical Championships have taken place all over the world – in Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa and now for the second year, in the USA and Canada. What Should I Do?

Pick your event and we will see you on the 19th December! Whether you are interested in getting in front of some leading college coaches or unlocking the potential of skill based training, either event will help you on your path to improve as a soccer player. Each event features kit, lunches, classroom sessions, over 10 hours of coaching and a series of prizes or opportunities for further access to our European professional soccer partners. As an added bonus, the star performers over the weekend will earn a special invitation to compete in a professional academy tournament in Europe the following year and enter as part of a GIS team. Only the best will earn this special privilege so now is the time to start practicing!
